What’s been going on around Grande Tours this summer?
After our last Kids Camp in early August things slow down. This is typical for the summer. Along with our customers to take care of we had several fund raisers and club outings. As always, 100% of the revenue for these fund raisers goes to the organization. To date, Grande Tours has given back to the community $21,350.00 in-kind services & product. Thanks to our customers for making this possible.
Port Charlotte Kayak Club

Port Charlotte Kayak Club members were our guest for another famous “Hot Dawg” cookout. The club pitched in and did a lot of cleaning and trimming in The Woolverton Trails. This is the 2nd time the club has helped us keep the trails open. Grande Tours is in the process of again marking the trails. Some of the numbers have changed as new pathways have opened and some old ones have closed. Thanks to the Club and also Ed and Joe for all the help. We invite any group or individuals who would like to help maintain the trails to step up and lend a hand.
Sun Coast Cathedral

The Sun Coast Cathedral of Venice had a great turn out for their fund raiser. Kayaking, paddleboarding, good food, a fire circle and drumming circle proved to all be crowd pleasers.
Peace River Wildlife Center

Peace River Wildlife Center was here October 6th to raise much needed dollars. What a nice group of people to work with and so many that give their time to make events like this happen.
International Coastal Cleanup

Again this year Grande Tours donated their fleet of kayaks for The International Coastal Cleanup. Kayaks came back with loads of trash found in and about our local waterways. Thanks to all these volunteers who donate their time to make our area a better place to live.
GRANDE TOURS OUT AND ABOUT
Pioneer Events
Grande Tours was invited to be a part of the Labor Day Pioneer Events for 2012. Added to the ever popular cardboard races we were there with paddleboards for “newbies” to give it a try and entertain the crowds when they would take a fall. It was great fun for us and the spectators!!
Seafood Festival

We were set up again this year at the Annual Seafood Festival in greater downtown Placida. A popular fund raiser for Placida Rotary Club, all the proceeds go back to the community through Rotary. It takes a village to pull this off and so do it so well.
